New Spanish Command figures in the pipeline

I just thought I'd post a teaser photograph of some drummers for the new Spanish command set which is being finished as we speak (along with the Gran Colombian Command set). As you can see I think the sculpting is up to the high standard that we are trying to maintain. I hope you like them.

We're still targeting the final release of the Gran Colombian figures over the next month (a total of 18 individual sculpts), and the Spanish shortly afterwards. As they say, quality takes time :-)

New pictures of Spanish centre company greens

I just though I would share with you the first pictures of the completed Spanish centre company sculpts. This figures match the Spanish flank company figures, all figures with the short jackets common to many of the Spanish units campaigning in South America.

These can be painted as tropical brin uniforms (all in white/cream), or as more standard uniforms, and can be used for the Spanish in all campaigns. The Spanish troops often had covered shakos, though the advantage of this is that they can also be used for units in the various Patriot armies, either in the Northern campaigns of Bolivar or the Southern campaigns of San Martin in Chile and Peru.

A command pack is now being sculpted, and all the packs for this unit will then be cast and released. We are hoping that these will be available by the start of September.

New pictures of Spanish flank company greens

I received some photos of the greens (or rather greys..) of the next unit in the pipeline. These are the flank company of what will be 4 packs for the colonial Spanish army in short jackets (both flank and centre companies, skirmishers and command). This was the "brin" tropical uniform in white worn in many campaigns and battles both in the north and south (for example by the well known "Burgos" regiment in one of their many uniform changes, as well as the "Arequipa" and "Infante Don Carlos" regiments).

It can also be used for the more standard uniforms in grey or blue worn by such regiments as "Imperial Alejandro" in 1821, or "Numancia" in 1819, and also for some of the patriot units in the south such as the Argentinian Cazadores.

The new Gran Colombians will follow shortly. I hope you like them.
